Photo To-dos let you require specific photos on a job and guide your technicians to capture them in the field. Create a Photo To-do once, then add it to Work Orders, Estimates, and Job Templates. You can also require Photo To-dos to be completed before a job can be finished.
This article covers how to create and manage Photo To-dos in ServiceBridge Web.
Before You Begin
Where to find it: Settings (gear icon) > Jobs > To-do Items
Permissions: To create and edit To-do Items, you need Modify access or higher to Job Settings. If you can’t see Jobs in the Settings menu, or you can see it but can’t make changes, ask your admin to update your access.
Access level | What you can do |
None | Jobs doesn’t appear in the Settings menu. |
Read | View Job Settings, but not make changes. |
Modify | View and edit Job Settings, and save changes. |
Delete | Full access to the Job Settings page. Usually only admins have this. |
Creating a Photo To-do
Click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper-right corner, then select Jobs.
In the To-do Items section, click + Add new.
The Add To-do window opens.
Enter a Display Name (up to 60 characters). For example, "Photograph condenser coil."
Set Input Type to Photo.
Add one or more Photo Types and enter a Minimum for each. For example, 2 Before photos and 3 After photos.
To add another photo type, click + Add photo type. To remove one, click the X.
Each photo type helps technicians sort job photos by purpose:
Before: Shows what the area or equipment looks like before any work starts.
After: Shows the finished work so customers can see the difference. These photos also serve as proof of what was done.
Private: For photos you don’t want to share with the customer. Only ServiceBridge users can see them.
Recommended: Shows possible work that isn’t on the current work order or estimate yet.
If technicians must take photos of a type before finishing the job, set Required by Default to Yes. If they can’t take the photos, they’ll need to record a reason before closing out.
(Optional) Enter a Default description to tell technicians what to photograph.
Set Required by Default to Yes if technicians must capture these photos, or record a reason they can't, before finishing the job.
Note: With Required by Default on, the photo to-do is already marked as required whenever you add it to a work order, estimate, or Job Template, so you don’t have to set it each time. This setting works on its own and doesn’t depend on your Workflow Preferences.
Set Display on Job Print View to Yes to include captured photos on the printed job.
📝 Note: This setting is off by default, so photos won’t show on the printed job until you turn it on.
Click Save.
