Configuring your Default Asset Settings

First let's configure our default Asset settings. This allows users to control how assets are created within their account.

To access Asset Settings click on the Settings icon in the upper right corner and then select 'Assets'.

You can control how assets are created here by scrolling down to the fourth accordion called 'Defaults' and clicking on 'Edit'

Is Category Required: Specifies whether a category is required when creating or editing an asset.

Is Model Required: Specifies whether a model is required when creating or editing an asset.

Must Use the Model List: Specifies whether a user must pick from the model list when creating or editing an asset.

  • NOTE: Asset Categories and Models can be created and modified from your Asset Settings as well in the accordions right below Defaults (see above image)

Once you are happy with your default settings click save.

Managing Your Assets

Asset Categories and Models

You can also create and modify Asset Categories and Models directly from your Asset Settings.

You can see we have already created a few Categories for our Assets below. Feel free to create as many as you need to link to your existing and newly created Assets.

Creating and Editing Assets

Now that you have configured your default settings and updated your Category and Model lists it couldn't be easier to apply these new fields to existing and newly created Assets under Asset Information.

Asset Grid

You are also able to sort and filter by Asset Category and Model from your Asset Grid to make it even easier to manage your growing list of Assets.
